Shipment templates

Create shipments faster and easier with Shipmondo’s shipment templates.

Updated today

Shipment templates are a central part of Shipmondo, helping you create shipments easily, quickly, and automatically with pre-filled shipping information.

They can be used, for example, if you have preferred carrier products and services when creating manual shipments, or if you have a webshop with multiple delivery methods. This allows you to automatically create shipments/shipping labels when processing your orders in Shipmondo.

Templates help you reduce human error, automate your workflows, and save a significant amount of time.

What can be pre-filled in a template?

You can fill in the most basic information in the template, such as:

  • Sender country

  • Reciever country

  • Carrier

  • Product

  • Shipping agreement

  • Freight payer (e.g., if you handle dropshipping for a customer or are a 3PL/fulfillment center)

  • Sender (e.g., if you have multiple sender addresses)

  • Recipient

  • Carrier services

  • Extended insurance

  • Other services

  • etc.

The example below shows a template for shipments within Sweden using DHL Freight Service Point, where the Personlig utlämning, Skicka grönt, and personalized message services are selected.

Where are templates used in Shipmondo?

Preferred template for manual creation

If you frequently use a specific carrier or shipping product, you can mark a template as your Preferred shipment template.

This way, it will always be applied by default to your future manual shipments. Read more here.

Order Management

If you have a webshop and use Shipmondo Order Management, you can link a shipment template to each delivery method in your shop. Once a delivery method is linked to a template, it is automatically applied when you process and create shipments in Shipmondo.

Read more about linking templates to delivery methods here.

Return Portal

Shipment templates are also used in the Shipmondo Return Portal. Each return method on the portal must be set up with a shipment template. This ensures that return shipping is booked correctly when your customer orders a return shipment.

Read more about Return Portal setup here.

Examples of setup and usage

You can create templates for many different scenarios - for example, templates for international shipping, return shipments, or shipments with a different freight payer.

We have compiled a collection of examples for setting up and using templates in the link below.
